What is NetBeans IDE and how to install the latest NetBeans IDE on Windows

NetBeans IDE is free and open source application development software IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for quickly and easily desktop application development, mobile applications development, web applications development, and database-oriented applications with Java, HTML5, PHP, C/C++, Groovy, and more languages. It has a worldwide community of a large number of users and developers for support and discussion.
Here we are going to install the latest NetBeans IDE 7.3 on Windows. For installation of NetBeans IDE, follow the below instructions

  Download the Latest NetBeans IDE software. Click Here

  The Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 26 or later or JDK 7 Update 10 or later is required for installation. You can download the latest update of JDK 6 or 7 at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads.

 

On the NetBeans IDE Download page, you can obtain one of several installers, each of which contains the base IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and additional development tools.

The following installers are available:
Java SE. Supports all standard Java SE application development and JavaFX SDK features.
Java EE. Supports Java SE application development and Java EE web application development. This download option also includes Glass-Fish web application Server Open Source Edition and Apache Tomcat web Server software.
C/C++. Supports C, C++,  Fortran, and Assembly language development.
PHP. Provides tools for PHP 5. x development, Zend, and Symfony Framework support.
All. It contains all the run times and technologies available for the NetBeans IDE for all types of application development.

 
Download the latest NetBeans IDE software from the website  Click Here

Save the file in your desired folder
 

 3- Double click the setup NetBeans IDE setup file and click at running for installation

If you download the All download option, you can choose exactly what tools and run times to install. Click Customize on the Welcome page of the installer and select the features that you want to use. Here in Runtimes option Glassfish Web server which will also install with NetBeans IDE

Click next after your desired selection

 Accept the License agreement and click next

 Here is the option to install JUnit. Select yes or no and click next for further step

Java JDK should already be installed on your PC. The installer will automatically detect the JDK Location and its version. JDK should be the latest version for proper performance.
Give the folder path where you want to install the Glassfish server as we selected this runtimes server in the start. Click next

On the Summary page, do the following:
Verify the list of components to be installed is correct.
Select the Check for Updates check box if you want to check the Update Center for possible updates
Ensure you have sufficient space on your system hard disk for the installation.

Click Install to begin the installation.

 At the Setup Complete page, provide anonymous usage data if desired, and click Finish

Congratulation. You have successfully completed the NetBeans IDE installation. To start the NetBeans IDE, you can double click at NetBeans IDE Icon made at Desktop or go to Start menu -> Program -> NetBeans -> click on NetBeans 7.3. NetBeans will open and its start page will look like this.
